Gandhinagar: The Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC), part of the Adani Foundation,and Kaushalya – The Skill University (Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute), Government of Gujarat recently signed an MoU 9th March 2022 topromote skill-based education, skill development, entrepreneurship, reskilling and upskilling as well as to facilitate research in emerging areas in primary, secondary and tertiary industries in Gujarat.The agreement was signed in the presence of Ms Anju Sharma, Principal Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, and Mr Vasant Gadhvi, Executive Director, Adani Foundation.Mr. Jatin Trivedi, COO, ASDC, and Mr. H.S. Suthar, Director, Mahatma Gandhi Labour Institute were also present on the occasion.
Set up by the state government, the university offersdegree, diploma and certificate courses, including short-term and long-term, as per the demands of the market. It conductstrainings for trainers of ITIs, Prime Minister Kaushalya Vikas Yojna,the government, and other skill centresin the latest technologies, skills and products based on market requirement.
As per the pact inked on 9th March 2022, the university will grant affiliation to the course/s run as per its norms, carry out assessment at the end of each semester, award credit/degree/diploma certificates and marksheets to successful students, promote courses on its website, at ITIs and other government institutions, and provide teaching support to ASDC in carrying out academic functions wherever required.
ASDC will provide course-specific trainings, deploy qualified and experienced faculties to impart lessons, arrange for on-the-job training/internship as specified in the curricula, provide NSQF Level 4 or above courses unless specifically permitted –the institute will obtain necessary approval for NSQF,organise subject experts’ visits to the centre, help in the placement of successful candidates, provide Level 3 courses in the first year to non-ITI students, and conduct ToT for instructors as specified by the university. Youth will benefit from the three-year degree programmes under BSc,healthcare services, BA in tourism and hospitality, BBA in logistics and supply chain management system and many more.
Mr. Jatin Trivedi, COO, ASDC ,said, “ASDC is expected to train over 200 youth in a year and will carry out necessary publicity and awareness drives among the target group. This agreement will boost skill development and ensure availability of a skilled workforce.”
SAKSHAM, an initiative of the Adani Foundation registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, is an ideology of the Adani Skill Development Centre to make Indian youth capable of achieving their goals in life by becoming skilled professionals. SAKSHAM is working towards bringing world-class skill development training programmes armed with augmented andvirtual reality to Indian youth through partnership with various corporates and other organizations. Till date, ASDC has empowered over 1,00,000 youth.
