Prof. Dr. Shiv Kant Shukla holds academic leadership position with strong industrial background in diversified role in the biotechnology sector. Prof. Shukla serves as Professor (Life-Science) and Head, School of Services in Kaushalya-The Skill University (An Affiliating State University, Set up by Labour, Skill Development and Employment Development, Government of Gujarat).

Over 25 years of Professional career, Dr. Shukla has made significant contribution in facilitating commercialization of biotechnologies through his active involvement in technology transfer, advisory services to the many State Governments towards setting up of biotechnology parks, organizing skill & entrepreneurship development programmes, promotion of plant tissue culture through setting up of unique quality management system (QMS), innovation management, administration and management of biotech projects.

He has made more than 75 publications and chaired/delivered more than 55 invited/key note speeches at national and international forum.

Before joining this public University, he worked in Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL), New Delhi, an organization promoted by Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India for 17 years in different capacities of project management and knowledge transfer. Prior to BCIL, he was heading a leading commercial plant tissue culture unit in central India.

Prof. Shukla has managed prestigious international and national long-term projects of Government of India which includes Indo-Africa Project on Plant Tissue Culture and National Certification System for Tissue Culture Plants (NCS-TCP). NCS-TCP became self-sustaining program starting from scratch during his successful tenure over the period of 15 years as Principal Investigator. During this period, he facilitated building capacities of plant tissue culture sectors through development of guidelines, SOPs, mentorship, training and skill development.

In addition to the above international and national projects, Dr. Shukla worked with many State Governments for setting up of Biotechnology Parks and Incubators for promoting start up in biotechnology particularly in remotest parts of the country including Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Chhattisgarh etc. He played a key role in conceptualizing and preparing the detailed plan for Biotech Parks for many State Governments which were later approved by GoI for financial support. These assignments provided deep insights about technology-led translational work.

Prof. Shukla steered the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) of BCIL as its Head, established by DBT-BIRAC. As the Head, TTO, he was actively involved in innovation and technology management of DBT, GoI supported Autonomous Research Institutions.

His contributions have been acknowledged by various recognitions and awards including Certificate of Appreciation from Govt of Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, Honorary Professorship from Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Rastriya Gaurav Award & Certificate of Excellence from India International Friendship Society, New Delhi etc.

In the year 2023, he was awarded DANIDA fellowship for exchange programme for technology transfer under the Green Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark for visiting leading universities in Denmark. During his professional career, he has travelled to many countries including Thailand, Bangladesh, Denmark, Germany etc.

Dr. Shukla facilitated licensing of 7 technologies in the life science domain. His contribution in technology and innovation management has been recognized through the award of Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) by ATTP, Scotland in 2023. This coveted status gives credibility in over 60 countries around the world as an expert in Knowledge Exchange / Knowledge Transfer / Technology Transfer.

Prof. Shukla has managed projects of the Central Government of collective value exceeding INR 25.00 Crores and achieved tangible outcomes.
